Year 6 trip to the West Midlands Police Museum
On Thursday, year 6, attended the West Midlands Police Museum as part of an introductory to their new history unit - Crime and Punishment through the ages. The children were able to explore what it would have been like to be a police officer from the 1800-present day and how this has changed over the years. During our day, the children actively participated in a workshop about crime and punishment through the ages. The children learnt about all the different petty crimes that people could be arrested for such as stealing a silk handkerchief from the rich. We also explored different punishments people faced: hanging, stocks and drowning.
